We didn't have much planned this weekend, but it ended up being full of fireworks. Maybe that's not totally a coincidence. On Saturday we were hanging around, Skyping with Grandma and Papa and Leah said "Ka" for Kate! For a while now, she's been saying "ka" to mean cold (and hot, if we're being honest) and it was amusing that if you asked her sister's name, she'd say "Da!" (the word for everything) instead. Language has been really ramping up in the last two weeks. She's says "na" instead of just shaking her head; she more convincingly uses "da" to refer to dogs, doors, dark etc. Dark is especially good. When she says 'dark' she closes her eyes and something about it is exceedingly cute.
And then today, after a full day, including a garden party for her new class and a dinner our, Kate decides that, after 6 weeks of resistance, she'd like to try her bike again. We had just a little time before bed, so we got the bike out. And then when we got to the park she just did it. Almost no prompting -- all it took was Matt getting her started and she was off! Turning. Slowing down. Around and around. Boom. Riding a bike.
