I remember when Kate's language started taking off, each week I thought 'Wow! Her language is really taking off!' And then a week later, I would think 'Whoa...now it's *really* taking off.' I feel the same about Leah. She now prattles in sentences or something like them all day, picking up new words all the time. Go, come, play, now, big, tiny, pee pee, ipad, pot pie, and most importantly, 'hot cocoa!' She doesn't have command of tense, but she talks about the past, present and future.
This week was 'dancer dress up' week at ballet. Leah wore a tutu (a word she knows) for a while. Kate wore her Elsa dress and after Leah's class was done, she and I snuck in just in time to see Kate do her showcase dance. It was the kind of wonderful childhood dance you want to just replay in slow motion in your memories forever. It was quite graceful and you could see that in her imagination, she *was* Elsa. Leah clapped and said "yay! Kate!" And then we saw her classmates, most of whom also did Elsa dances. :-)
