Kate seems like less of a newb(orn) these days in a lot of different ways.
When you put her on your shoulder to carry her, she mostly holds her head up, looking around and bopping along as you walk. Smiles occur more often, and now we're sure that she's intentionally batting at the toys on her gym (unlike either of her parents, Kate goes to the gym regularly, first thing every morning).
She doesn't always track objects moving across her field of vision, but she can and tonight she really impressed us. Sitting in her bouncy chair, Matt was making faces and then got up and walked behind her. She tracked him as he got up, and then looked to the side, then up, raising her chin and tracking him all the way, even as he moved several feet away.
Today she had a big girl bath, since we put her in the water rather than just sponging her on the sling. This kept her warmer and greatly improved her bath-time mood. In fact, there was nary a cry. Today's weight: 8 lbs even.
